SPECIAL Santas were out in force as kind-hearted fundraisers donned Father Christmas costumes for a seasonal fund-raising event.
The British Heart Foundation charity event, in Eastrop Park, Basingstoke, brought some festive joy to an otherwise dull day.
As the clouds covered the sky, around 160 red and white Santas brightened up the afternoon, completing 1km laps of the park to raise money for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Neil Jarrett, fundraising volunteer manager for BHF, said he was pleased with the turnout for the fifth year the event had been held in Basingstoke.
He added: “It’s a growing event. We had 95 people pre-register. The rain held off and hopefully everyone will have had a good time.”
It is hoped the event will raise around £6,000 for the charity through participants’ sponsorship collections.
