STEVEN Berkoff will perform a masterclass in evil in Shakespeare's Villains, on September 26 and 27, at 7.30pm.

The legendary Berkoff appears at The Point, in Eastleigh, for the first time this autumn, performing his virtuoso solo exploration of Shakespeare's most villainous characters.

Iago, Shylock, the Macbeths and Richard III all come under the spotlight in Shakespeare's Villains, as Berkoff metamorphoses into one menacing character after another.

In a tour de force performance, Berkoff reveals characters who are inherently evil, others whose situation leads them to evil deeds and yet others who are at the mercy of an evil society.

Renowned throughout the world as an actor, writer and director, Berkoff is known to many for the villains he has played in mainstream films - Octopussy, Beverly Hills Cop, Rambo and The Krays.

He brings this experience to Shakespeare's characters in a way that challenges, exhilarates and entertains.

Shakespeare's Villains was first performed in London's West End in June 1998.

Since then, critics and audiences around the world have been enthralled and delighted, and, eight years on, the show is still packing out theatres around the globe.

Berkoff holds the stage alone, unfolding the whole spectrum of evil with insight, comedy and a highly-charged performance.

Recommended for ages 12 and above.
