AWARD-winning Ballet Cymru returns to The Haymarket on Saturday, 16 June with a sparkling and refreshing performance of Cinderella.

Ballet Cymru prides itself on being different and Cinderella, with a specially commissioned new music score and creative circus elements, will be no exception. Composer Jack White

and circus company Citrus Arts conjure a surprising world of wonder and magic.

Ballet Cymru are a young, vital group of dancers who are pushing back the barriers of classical ballet. Using powerful and timeless stories the company challenges its dancers to interpret some of the finest characters in literature.

Featuring choreography by Darius James and costumes by Welsh designer Steve Denton, Ballet Cymru brings to life this fairy tale using the company’s blend of classical technique and storytelling.

Strictly stars Kevin and Karen bring their new show to The Anvil on Sunday, 17 June.

Following a sensational sell-out debut tour last year, Strictly’s Kevin and Karen are back in 2018 with a brand new show.

They’ll dazzle you as they weave their own spellbinding style of ballroom magic. Expect a sultry, hip-swinging journey through the Waltz, Cha Cha, Fox Trot, Tango and Salsa.

Backed by a supporting cast of dancers and a live 12-piece show band, Kevin and Karen’s most famous, edge-of-your-seat routines are brought to the stage in a high-energy performance filled with sassy tunes, heart-pounding choreography and sparkling costumes.

Rufus Wainwright, one of the great male vocalists, composers and songwriters of his generation, comes to The Anvil for the first time on Thursday, 21 June.

At the age of 14 he was named Canada’s best young musician and later received the Juno Award for Best Alternative Album. His album Rufus does Judy at Carnegie Hall in 2006, was nominated for a Grammy.

Praised by the New York Times for his ‘genuine originality’, Rufus has collaborated with artists ranging from Elton John, David Byrne, Mark Ronson, Joni Mitchell to Burt Bacharach.

His albums Release the Stars and, more recently, Out of the Game (produced by Mark Ronson) have continued his rise as one of the most notable singers and composers around today.
