BASINGSTOKE Ladies Choir will be teaming up with another choir for this year’s annual concert.

Hosted at Queen Mary’s College, the choir will welcome the Hampshire Police Male Voice Choir as part of the concert on October 27.

One year on since the arrival of their new music director Robert Elliott the Basingstoke Ladies have risen to the new challenges and have an exciting new repertoire.

Mr Elliott was founder and musical director of Britain’s most successful male choir of the 21st century, the Wessex Male Choir, with whom he developed and went on to win more than 20 prizes in competition during his 12 year tenure..

The choir also recently welcomed Sir Joe French as their new president who will bring a fresh perspective to the choir. The launch of a new website has been an exciting development over the last few weeks with tickets to concerts now available online.

The Hampshire Police Male Voice choir is one of the leading male voice choirs from the south of England and is a most accomplished and well-known choir producing entertaining music. It is noted for its magnificent sound and is received with enthusiastic and warm appreciation by the many audiences, large and small, to whom the choir sings each year.

The choir invariably creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, whilst maintaining the highest musical standards.

Tickets cost £10 per person for the concert.
