TWO of Europe’s leading acoustic players are coming to The Forge at the Anvil.

Tomorrow, Giorgio Serci and Jonny Phillips will lead their audience on a musical journey from the guitar’s origins in Spain and North Africa across to Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Sardinian-born Giorgio, an award-winning guitarist, composer and arranger, has recorded and shared the stage with musical legends such as Jools Holland, Shirley Bassey and Kenny Wheeler, as well as being associated with global record company CBS and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Jonny is best known for leading one of the most accomplished groups on the UK jazz and world music scenes, the Latin American-influenced band Oriole.

Phillips has also released three critically acclaimed albums and performed with the likes of Arun Ghosh and Julia Biel.

Together, their engaging, soulful and melodic guitar tunes will include jazz classics alongside original compositions with Spanish, Brazilian and Sardinian flare.

Tickets for the show are £15.50 or £13.50 for concessions.
