NEWBURY Comedy Festival 2010 is drawing near with a line-up that will set audiences a-chortling.

The seventh festival, which is running from July 8 to 29, features several comedy double bills including Rob Deering and Kent Valentine, who are joining forces for a night of razor-sharp wit and hilarious storytelling.

They will be at New Greenham Arts on Thursday, July 22 at 8pm.

Deering’s mixes his quick-fire wit with flights of musicianship. Audiences can expect easy-going silliness and terrific songs, making him an engaging performer and a favourite in comedy clubs around Britain.

He also pops up on TV shows and has been commissioned by Channel 4 to write and host the comedy series Lesser-Spotted Britain.

The Australian Kent Valentine tells joke-laden stories and his infectious mix of cheeky and enthusiastic optimism make him one of the most dynamic comedians on the comedy circuit. He spins original yarns that both captivate his audience and make them laugh, in a clever and absorbing brand of comedy stand-up. In 2005, Kent was one of four Australian comics selected to perform in The Comedy Zone, a festival show run by the Melbourne Comedy Festival that showcases Australia's best new talent.
