THE Caerphilly Male Voice Choir will be appearing at the invitation of The Lions Club of Basingstoke for the first time.

The concert will be held at Queen Mary’s Hall, Queen Mary’s College (QMC) on Saturday, 17 November.

The choir presents 30 voices on stage under the musical direction of Nerys Porch who has been working as an entrepreneur with Welsh choirs since 2003.

There will be a guest soloist at QMC, Cheryl Roberts who graduated from The Welsh College of music and drama and was guest soloist in the Proms in The Albert Hall with The BBC National Chorus of Wales.

The choir promises a varied and uplifting evening of song which will of course include memorable reminders of their Welsh homeland.

Doors will be open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

The Lions Club will be offering its traditional welcome at QMC with the audience seated at tables with easy access to the reasonably priced bar.

Tickets are priced at £12 and can be purchased through The Lions website by visiting basingstokelions.org.uk or direct from Maurice Hockley on 01256 421867 or email mauricehockley@hotmail.com.
