THAT Comedy Thing returns to the Top of the Town this month for an evening of alternative comedy including a range of Edinburgh Fringe previews.

Two years in a row, That Comedy Thing has hosted Edinburgh Fringe previews by the eventual winners of the Best Newcomer Act at the Edinburgh Fringe, John Kearns in 2013 and Alex Edelman in 2014.

This year promises to be another night of unique and original comedy, with Basingstoke’s David Wiseau the MC for the evening.

Holly Burn will be previewing I am Kirsty K. Holly was most recently seen supporting The Mighty Boosh and featured in the ITV2 comedy series Bad Bridesmaid.

Ali Brice, below, will present ‘Eric Meat has no proof, only memories of pasta’. ThreeWeeks magazine described him as "completely bizarre: deadpan, yet totally off-the-wall.”

Basingstoke Gazette:

Founder of the comedy troupe Weirdos Adam Larter is to write a new show especially for the evening. Adam’s most recent show, ‘Gary and the crisp factory’, was one of the highlights of this year’s Leicester Comedy festival.

Finally, political comedian Joe Wells will preview a condensed version of his new show “10 things I hate about UKIP”.

Joe has supported Frankie Boyle and Alexei Sayle, and the Guardian has described Joe’s act as "some of the most surprising and thought-provoking material coming from any comedian in his early 20s".

See them all in Sanctuary, London Street, on Monday, July 20 from 7.30pm.

Tickets are £4 on the door. To reserve a seat, email aureliaarts@live.co.uk.
