THE 18th Highclere Country Show saw tens of thousands of people come through the gates to sample this year’s countryside showcase.

Families, sportsmen and women enjoyed the entertainment, stunning scenery and lots of sporting championship qualifiers.

Visitors were spoilt for choice with an entertainment profile that families of all ages loved. Whether it was the return of the Knights of Middle England, or Highclere favourites such as Cyril the Squirrel and Ye Olde Redtail Falconry, families were happy taking in the stalls, sitting around the arena and watching a variety of entertainment that the weekend offered.

Countryman Fairs’ managing director, Jerome Roberts said: “The Highclere Country Show continues to grow and the Bank Holiday has once again proved a huge success.

“This year we are thrilled to have hosted the second and third rounds in the Great Wall Motor World Series Clay Shooting qualifiers and the Great Wall Motor World Series Gundog Championship with Chudleys, which saw more competitors than ever before having a go.

“With such a positive response from many who attended, we continue to look forward to a fantastic season ahead!”

The next Countryman event is the Sussex Country Show, which takes place from June 14 – 15 at Parham Park.
