Paint and Clay
Lynne Heaton and Kees van der Zwan are holding an exhibition called 'Paint and Clay' at the Salisbury Library.
Lynne who is an art therapist and a does art activities.
She loves modelling the raw clay, and creating form, texture and the transformative processes of firing clay in a kiln, and is especially fascinated by experimenting with slips and glazes, and then discovering the finished piece.
Her new work other than landscape' bowls, are unusually beautiful magical sculpted crows, snails, tiny dancing people and clay towers.
Kees van der Zwan works as a volunteer at the Jo Benson Day Centre, and only recently has taken-up painting.
When young, enjoyed sketching and drawing, but all that went to the back burner, when starting a family.
Starting off with brush and colours , and thus expressing his thoughts was slightly intimidating, but he persevered, and soon found inspiration and confidence to continue.
The exhibition will be running during April, at the library gallery 4.
