ANNUAL meeting: The annual parish meeting was held on Friday, May 18.
The clerk and six parish councillors attended along with 13 parishioners and our borough councillors – Ranil Jayawardena and newlyelected Chris Tomblin.
The Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Councillor Martin Biermann, gave an interesting talk on his new role. The importance of drawing up a Neighbourhood Plan was discussed, and anyone interested in joining a working group should contact the parish clerk on clerk@sherfieldonloddon-pc.gov.uk.
SHERFIELD NWR: Are meeting tonight, for their annual ramble, which will take in the Basingstoke Canal via Odiham Castle and will finish up at the Fox and Goose at Greywell for supper.
EVERGREENS Club for the over-60s: May says: “Our May meeting was our birthday party with an afternoon tea and delicious cakes. The entertainment did not arrive so we had a quiz. Our June meeting will be a red, white and blue theme in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.”
