WINNERS: All the gardens must have looked fabulous in the June sunshine last Monday for the judging of the Best Gardens competition, but those that impressed the judge best included Debbie and Seumas Foster, who won the Combined Flower and Vegetable category, and Lyng and Peter Hopwood, who won both Best Flower Garden and Best Pots and Containers – Congratulations.
ARTISTIC talent: Was in abundance at Mary Thomas’ students’ exhibition last Saturday – there were so many wonderful pictures on display and the new banner for Cliddesden Village Hall was unveiled.
It’s another marvellous collage of wildlife images produced by class members mounted on canvas.
The previous banner was beautiful and this one has a contemporary edge that refreshes the concept.
WINE walk: This year’s hosts are Hilary de Ferranti at The Old Manor, Church Lane, Maggie ’n’ Meg at The Green, Jacqui and Tony Matthews at Mayfield, and Theresa and Andy Webb at Dragon’s Holt, Green Lane.
Put on a pair of comfortable shoes and set out round the village and work up a thirst between venues.
