VANDALISM in the village: A plea for vigilance from John Davie, the chairman of the village hall committee, who can be contacted on 01256 464168.

So many volunteers have willingly given their time to refurbish our excellent hall building that it is tragic to report that their next fundraising effort will now have to be committed to repairing the hall roof.

It seems that groups of youths have been throwing rocks in an effort to break the Velux windows and damaged many tiles in the process.

The police are aware of the situation so any help from observant dog walkers and passers-by is very necessary if these thoughtless yobs are to be apprehended.

CCTV cameras are being considered, but this is an unneccessary drain on funds that could be put to better use. Our PCSO Lauren Miller would welcome any information to be sent to lauren.miller@ hampshire.pnn.police.uk about this and other matters of local concern.
