SUMMER fayre: Don’t forget the big local event of the summer takes place this weekend – Rooksdown Community Association’s annual Rooksdown Summer Fayre on Saturday, from 2pm to 4pm on Mill Road Green.
There will be a teddy tombola, bouncy castle, fire engine, hoopla, various games and stalls, and refreshments.
Any ideas for games and activities, donations for raffle prizes, books and particularly offers of help with running the event are extremely welcome.

OTHER summer events: The following children’s events will be available over the school holidays: Wardens Wednesday Workout – every Wednesday throughout the holidays, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm (on the football field near Nightingale Gardens) for those aged 18 and under.
Play Council (Rooksdown playscheme) on July 23 and also August 6, 13, 17 and 24, from 10am to noon, on Mill Road Green, for five to 11 year-olds (under-fives can come but need to be accompanied by a parent).
Storytime with Diana on August 7, from 12pm to 12.30pm (Mill Road Green) for pre-schoolers.
Fun and Fitness on August 11, 12, 20 and 21, from 10am to noon (football field).
Fun and Games with Wessex Christian Fellowship on August 4, 18, 25 and September 1, from 10am to noon (Mill Road Green).
