HARVEST: Will be celebrated on Sunday, with Holy Communion at 9am and a harvest family service at 10.30am. There will be a harvest lunch at noon in Cross House.

PARISH council: At the meeting on September 15 the chairman commented that the planning application for security lighting at the Clift Meadow car park and floodlights for the ball court would be pursued as the area needs some illumination for users after dark.

The council has some surplus garden tools and a mower for disposal. Contact the clerk on 880703 if interested.

On the German Road development it was reported that the proposed nursing home would go ahead and that unseen problems over paths existing on the site were being followed up. There were huge amounts of waste to be removed from the site needing up to 20 lorries a day over about 10 days.

BRITISH Legion update: At the council meeting, Charles Lewis spoke on this matter and outlined remedial work being carried out by the Scouts and supporters to bring the legion building up to a standard for use by the Scout groups.
