RELATE: I attended a meeting with trustees, staff and volunteers from Relate on Tuesday, March 11.

I understand new volunteers are needed to consider becoming counsellors.

To find out more, you can book a place for the next information session, which is on Wednesday, April 23, at 12.15pm. It is expected to last for an hour and a half.

CHURCH of Christ The King: Mothering Sunday was, as usual, a delightful service.

Young people contributed readings and posies were distributed to women in the congregation.

I arrived home with a posy of pretty yellow daffodils, which lasted for more than a week.

On Palm Sunday, a special service was held to describe Christ's entry into Jerusalem.

Councillor Brian Gurden and Mrs Gurden joined us and were made very welcome.

We heard the story of people holding aloft palms as Christ entered Jerusalem.

In church, we too raised palms to mark the occasion.

We felt sad to hear of Peter denying Christ and Judas betraying him with a kiss.

This was a memorable occasion, coming as it does before Easter Day.

The Easter Day service at the Church of Christ the King begins at 10am.
