AGM: Next Tuesday, there will be the annual general meeting of the hall at 7.30pm, at the hall.

Everyone is welcome to hear the reports from both the chairman and the finance committee chairman.

As I've ended up being both chairmen, the two reports will be combined.

The meeting will also provide an opportunity to elect village representatives, and we can co-opt members as well if anyone wishes to become involved with running the hall.

Questions and suggestions are welcome.

We have never offered refreshments and the meeting usually lasts for less than half an hour.

HORTICULTURAL society: Next Thursday, the society's talks programme will continue with "The Rise and Fall of Hackwood".

This intriguing subject, of great local interest, will be presented by Brian Spicer, at the Cliddesden Millennium Hall, at 7.45pm for 8pm.

Members are charged an entry fee of £1, or £2 for non-members.

The society's spring show follows on Saturday, March 29, at Ellisfield Hall.

The deadline for entries to your village representative is next Wednesday.

JUMBLE sale: On Sunday, March 30, the WI will be holding one of its acclaimed jumble sales at the hall.

These events produce a mass of items of all sorts and are well worth attending.

The entry cost is 20p, and doors open at 1.30pm.

There will be someone there to receive goods from about 11am if you have items to donate.
