THERE are volunteer opportunities and work experience placements coming up when the Virtual Orchestra touches down in Basingstoke.

The Virtual Orchestra is a digital symphony orchestra, powered by the Philharmonia Orchestra, which will be based at Festival Place from July 6 to August 11.

The orchestra is looking for a large number of volunteers and those looking for work experience opportunities across this period to help facilitate and run the project alongside its experienced team of event and technical managers.

Whether you or a team are looking to build your CVs, give something back to the community, or involve yourself in a nation-wide audience engagement project, or gain valuable experience within arts and project management, this could be the opportunity for you.

The Virtual Orchestra is also working closely with local organisations to help achieve audience and cultural engagement targets within Basingstoke that reduce and remove barriers to arts and social engagement.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Post-event job references and letters are available on request on completion of volunteering duties.

For more information, contact Tom Spurgin on tom.spurgin@philharmonia.co.uk or 020 7921 3932.

The deadline to sign up is Friday, 5 July.

To sign up, go to tryvolunteering.com and search for "The Virtual Orchestra".
