WOULD you like to help Loddon Valley Lions, in exchange for support for your group or charity?

Here are a few facts about the club and what they could do for you in return for a little help.

Loddon Valley Lions Club (LVLC) run three major fundraisers each year.

The Tadley Treacle Fair this year takes place June 2 on Saunders fields opposite Lloyds Bank.

There will also be a fireworks display at Barlow’s Park, Tadley on November 2, and then the Christmas Float which goes around Tadley, Baughurst, Sherbourne, Bramley and surrounding areas, usually for around 19 nights.

The team also go out and help at other Lions groups fundraisers as well as helping groups within the community with their fundraising too.

If you can raise a team of four to five adults to help a night or two on the Christmas Float, LVLC will donate a percentage of the total amount raised over the whole period they are out fundraising to helping clubs in January when the money is counted

There will be at least two to three Lions members on the float at the same time, so guests will be shaking a collection pot for donations and doing a lot of walking. Some of the Lions are now reaching an age where they can no longer walk the hours required .

Those who think they can help with the float should get in touch as soon as possible as planning has already begun.

Of all the money LVLC raises, 95 per cent is used in the local area and five per cent goes to causes worldwide, as Lions is an international group, to help victims of disasters abroad. The club has no admin costs as members pay subs to join which covers all administrative costs.
