YOU may find it hard to believe, but so far this year, over 3,200 people in crisis in have been fed by Basingstoke Foodbank, including over 1,000 children.

The Foodbank’s clients come from the Basingstoke and Deane area and are provided with a three-day emergency food supply.

New Tadley Satellite

In order to reach as many people in need as possible, a satellite branch has opened in Tadley, every Tuesday, between 11am and 12.30pm.

Clients can take vouchers to either the Basingstoke or Tadley sites, regardless of where they live.

The Tadley Foodbank can be found at Tadley Common Methodist Church, Newchurch Road, Tadley, RG26 3BF.

Please note that donations of food can only be made to the Basingstoke branch.

UK’s Biggest Food Collection

The UK’s Biggest Food Collection takes place at the end of the month, and Basingstoke Foodbank is taking part.

The Foodbank has joined forces with Tesco at Chineham.

Volunteers will be there on Friday, 30 November and Saturday, 1 December from 9am to 5pm, and we would love you to drop by, say 'hi' and place an item or two in our food collection.

Citizens Advice drop-in service

The Foodbank has recently invested in a partnership with the Citizens Advice in Basingstoke to provide one of its trained advisers to offer a free drop-in service every time the centre in Basingstoke is open.

We want to help our clients deal with some of the underlying circumstances which cause them to need to use a foodbank.

So, we have teamed up with Citizens Advice to provide help with a wide variety of issues including debt, benefits, financial budgeting etc.

Past and present Foodbank clients are welcome to visit the drop-in at our Foodbank centre (no appointment is needed) for a confidential chat.

It’s available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
