GREEN Week: Greening Chineham activities during Green Week were very well prepared, but sadly not supported as well as one might wish.
Two teams of litter pickers went out on one day and collected an amazing amount of rubbish around the parish, and they even managed to keep different types separate for recycling.
Sadly, some areas have already been re-littered in a matter of a few days. Greening Chineham would, though, like to thank those who took part in the litter pick.
The theme of rubbish was continued when last Friday, the film Trashed was shown at Christ Church. Again, only a handful of people turned up to view the informative film. It was particularly relevant to Chineham as the issue of incineration was covered. Visit greeningchineham.hampshire.org.uk. for more information.
CHINEHAM WI: Meets at Christ Church usually on the fourth Monday of each month.
For its members, there is a lunch club, a garden group and a Scrabble evening. For more information, email Ggillyflowerpower@hotmail.com.
