AN ABSOLUTELY fabulous new business could mean a hat-trick for a Tadley business woman.

Denise Walker has opened her third company, Absolutely Business, specialising in business consultancy, interim management and training services for the recruitment industry.

Mrs Walker, 42, started her career with Reed Employment in Basingstoke in 1986, before setting up Tulip Recruitment in 1992, where she had branches in Basingstoke and Camberley.

During this time, Tulip was runner-up in the Basingstoke Business Awards, won the Surrey Customer Care Award and achieved Investor in People status within six weeks of applying.

When she sold the company in a management buy out in 2003, she went on to work with the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) to set up the UK's first industry-specific business support service for the recruitment industry, which won DTI acclaim.

Ms Walker said: "I see my new business as the next step' from what we did at the REC, in terms of the depth of work carried out for clients.

"There's a definite need for a more bespoke, hands-on method of working with recruitment companies, where tailor-made solutions are delivered on the clients' premises."

Early signs indicate a healthy demand for this approach as the company is already working well for a number of clients, who started working with Absolutely Business before its official September launch.

Ms Walker said: "I left REC at the end of June and while I was putting together my business plan and setting up my company, I had clients knocking at my door.

"Could this be a case of third time lucky? All my businesses have been very successful and profitable - but it's an added bonus to be based nearer to home again."
