MORE Basingstoke residents are fighting against ‘aggressively’ hard water.
New figures, compiled by Harvey Water Softeners, found that 39 per cent more residents in Basingstoke purchased a water softener in 2018, when compared to previous year’s sales.
Water softeners are designed to alleviate factors associated with living in a hard water area, including the buildup of limescale.
At 320 milligrams of calcium carbonate per litre, Basingstoke is classified as having ‘aggressively hard water.’
Martin Hurworth, managing director of Harvey Water Softeners, said: “The increase in sales across Basingstoke is reflective of the growing trend of residents in the UK, recognising the benefits of softened water in creating a more sustainable and efficient home.”
