BASINGSTOKE and Deane Borough Council’s development partner for Basing View has contributed to record preliminary results for its parent company

Urban regeneration and property development company Muse Developments is part of parent company Morgan Sindall Group plc, the construction and regeneration group, which delivered record profit for the full year to December 31, 2018.

Adjusted profit before tax was up 23 per cent to £81.6 million ( on revenue of £2,972 million , a six pe cent increase on the previous year.

Last year Muse obtained detailed planning permission for a 45,000 sq ft office building at Basing View, and a pre-let to a 'major local employer' is being progressed.

Muse further secured outline permission for an additional 40,000 sq ft office on an adjacent site which will provide a future supply of modern offices in Basingstoke. A land sale to Village Urban Resorts for a business class hotel was also been completed in 2018 with construction now under way.

Michael Auger, regional director for the South at Muse Developments, said: “2018 was a strong year for Muse, with significant progress on many of our regeneration schemes across the south and we are continuing that momentum into 2019.

“Detailed planning permission has been secured for a 45,000 sq ft office development at Basing View in Basingstoke, as well as outline permission for an additional 40,000 sq ft of offices. We have also completed a land sale to Village Urban Resorts and construction on a business class hotel has begun.”
