STAFF at a car dealership have put on a road trip back in time.

As part of Alzheimer’s Society’s national Flashback Week campaign, Inchcape UK’s Toyota Basingstoke retail centre put on a vintage rock and roll theme day.

The centre, situated on Houndmills Industrial Estate, was one of Inchcape UK’s 100 plus sites around the country invited to take part in the automotive retailer’s second company-wide challenge this year to raise money for its charity partner Alzheimer’s Society.

Each centre was asked to select a decade or era of their choice and travel back in time with displays of retro and vintage vehicles, fancy dress, music from the era and other fun ideas for both customers and colleagues to enjoy.

For the vintage rock and roll theme, staff dressed up in outfits including full fifties skirts and bobby socks through to quiff wigs and leather jackets.

General Manager Andy Hollis, who transformed himself into Elvis for the event, said “This activity gave our customers the chance to remind themselves of the classic cars they may have once owned. It was also a great opportunity for all the team to have fun and work together to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.”

The Toyota centre contributed towards the £13,500 raised so far by Inchcape colleagues since the launch of the partnership in April this year.

Alzheimer’s Society was chosen as Inchcape UK’s new charity partner via staff vote.
