A BEAUTY and style event held at the Apollo Hotel and hosted by Basingstoke-based human resources consultancy Reality HR helped to raise more than £700 for the Gynaecological Cancer Fund.

Reality HR has nominated the fund as its chosen charity for 2017 and has committed to raise £2,000 from a number of events throughout the year.

This will go towards the fund’s three year target to raise £750k for research into new targeted treatments for the five main gynaecological cancers.

The charity is particularly close to the hearts of the Reality HR team as one of its members was diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer early in 2016.

The event was organised by Reality HR’s Kate Scott and Melanie Plotkin, who invited botanical beauty company, Arbonne, along to present to the audience.

Funds were raised via a raffle and £10 ticket sales with The Apollo providing free conference facilities for the event.

Reality HR managing director, Laura Davis, said: “We are delighted with the response we received from the event which has meant we have almost reached our annual £2,000 target, and we have more events planned before the end of the year.

“The Reality HR team has always shown strong support of the Gynaecological Cancer Fund which we are incredibly proud to support.”
