A NEWLY reopened garage in Basingstoke has invested heavily in new machines, tools and apprentices as part of its revamp.

The Kwik-Fit garage in Knights Park Road, Houndmills, has seen a full refurbishment as part of its investment to improve customer quality as well as staff progression. 

The Basingstoke centre was award the investment out of more than 600 centres across the UK for its staff’s commitment to serving the people of Basingstoke.

As part of the investment, the Basingstoke team will not only have new machines and tools in the centre, but the company will also be taking on 150 new apprentices, with some of these working at the Knights Park Road site. 

The redesigned centre will promote a more welcoming and customer-friendly environment, which will allow Kwik-Fit’s skilled staff to sit down with each customer and discuss their individual requirements. 

Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Cllr Anne Court was the guest of honour at the reopening on March 2. 

At the ribbon cutting, Cllr Court said: “The investment that Kwik-Fit has poured into the local centre is very good news for Basingstoke and its motorists. 

“It’s commendable that there’s an apprenticeship scheme in place to give young people a helping hand by creating jobs and giving them some valuable career skills. 

“I hope young people in Basingstoke will see the benefit and apply for the programme.” 

Centre manager of Kwik-Fit Basingstoke, Andy Marshall said that the investment has already given the staff a huge boost. 

He said: “All the team at the Basingstoke branch take great pride in our work and now we have a working environment that matches our ambition to deliver the best possible service.

“It’s also good news for the community because we are now armed with top-of-the-range equipment which will allow us to serve our customers even better than before.”
