STAFF at a Tadley pub raised a glass to celebrate the completion of a £400,000 refurbishment.

Spirit Pub Company funded the makeover at The Fox & Hounds, in Mulfords Hill, which has seen the pub take on a brighter, fresher feel with a lighter colour scheme and signature pieces of furniture and contemporary fixtures.

The Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane, Councillor Anne Court, was the first guest to pull a pint behind the bar to mark its new look. Addressing landlady Milly Staniscia, Cllr Court said: “It has been a pleasure to hear all about the history of the pub and in the short time you have been here you have worked very hard hard.

“I would like to wish you and your team the very best.”

The Fox & Hounds is also offering a new food menu with specials that will change on a regular basis and dishes such as chicken and white wine pie, creamy risotto with chives, soya beans and peas. Guests can also choose from a vast drinks range including a selection of national and local craft beers and real ales. Ms Staniscia said: “My team and I were honoured to have the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane join us for the opening of the new look Fox & Hounds. The pub is a true lynchpin of the community which has been here for over a century, with some locals visiting for more than 50 years.

“We are thrilled to be offering our regulars and new guests even better surroundings to socialise, eat freshly-prepared food and enjoy a drink.

“The opening was a real success with great feedback on our delicious menu and the fantastic interiors.

“My team and I look forward to welcoming more guests in the coming weeks.”
