GENEROUS staff at a Basingstoke law firm will be pulling out all the stops to support a charity that is raising vital funds for a local cancer treatment centre.

The team at QualitySolicitors Clarke & Son have made Ark Cancer Centre Charity their charity of the year.

Staff at the firm’s offices, in Winchester Road, will now be involved in supporting the charity’s mission to raise £5million towards the cancer treatment centre that will serve people in Basingstoke and Deane and surrounding areas.

While most of the funds for the centre – the preferred location of which is off junction 7 of the M3 near Basingstoke – will come from Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the charity’s appeal will ensure that patients and their families or carers benefit from a range of support services and complementary therapies in an enhanced environment.

Claire Redhead who is a partner said the 35-strong QualitySolicitors Clarke & Son team is pleased to be supporting a local charity that will make a life-changing difference to local people.

She said: “The money raised by Ark Cancer Centre Charity will ensure that the new cancer treatment centre can deliver the supportive care services, and the enhanced environment, that will make a crucial difference to the care and support offered to patients and their loved ones.”

Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee Merv Rees said: “I’m very grateful to the team for choosing to support the charity over the coming year. This centre is being built for the people, by the people, and that is why the support of everyone at QualitySolicitors Clarke & Son is so welcome.”
