A GROUP of clever entrepreneurs who like to network with successful business experts enjoyed some good humour from a top Basingstoke comedian.

Jan Jack was guest speaker at The Kick Ass Dinner Club, which is part of a networking group called The Mastermind Agency.

There she talked about her life as a secretary for 32 years, before she swapped it for stand-up comedy.

She also spoke of her Perfect Verse business, her monthly Laughter House Comedy Nights at the Red Lion Hotel, and a new workshop venture called Jan Jack’s Use Humour To Win Business.

“I used to go and do presen-tations at 4Networking and because I use humour, my talks were very popular,” explained Jan.

She added: “The purpose of the workshop is to ensure that when you present at business meetings, you keep people’s attention.

“If you make people smile, they’ll like you, and if they like you, they will buy from you. Humour helps people to relax, creates rapport and helps them to remember you.

“The key thing is to keep people engaged with appropriate humour. It’s about being creative and not telling jokes from a joke book.”
