WELLING Edward James (Jim) Passed away on Friday 8th January 2021, aged 70 years. Retired Hairdresser and theatre performer. Jim will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Unfortunately, due to current COVID restrictions, funeral attendance is family and close friends only. Family flowers only. Was so sad to hear this, I first met Jim in 1983 when I worked in the Red Lion behind the bar. He was a lovely guy Always smiling & even years after I had left bar work He would always smile & stop for a chat & a giggle. Great hairdresser too. Sleep well lovely man

I am extremely sad to hear of the death of Jim, whom I came to know through BATS during many years of our performances at The Haymarket Theatre, when I was a member of the company back in the 1980’s / 1990’s. He was a talented performer and at the centre of the heart of the company. I remember him arranging numerous wonderful social gatherings at his home for the members and their families of BATS. He was a lovely kind man, full of generosity and concern for others and with a great sense of humour and fun. I am so sorry that he is no longer with us.
