BASINGSTOKE Town manager Terry Brown is looking to make his side a lot more difficult to beat on their travels.

This was after the Dragons suffered their sixth away loss out of seven outings in the league last weekend.

There latest defeat came at Bishop Stortford. Town’s Sam Argent hit the post early on, but goals from Freddy Moncur and Dipo Akinyemi consigned them to a 2-0 defeat.

This weekend, the Dragons travel to Frome, the only side to beat them at the Camrose this campaign, 3-1 on the opening day of the season.

Midfielder Sam Deadfield is their only injury doubt.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Brown said: “It was disappointing at Stortford, as we had chances before they scored and after. Our away record is bad for a reason and I think it because we keep having to chase games and concede because of it.”

“Frome is a difficult place to go and they are a physical team, so I will look to select a team to combat this. I want us to be more difficult to beat and be still in the game on the hour mark. I can then send on our flair players.”

After the trip to Frome, Town are back at home on Tuesday night, with the first of two games against Dorchester in the space of five days.

The encounter at the Camrose is a league game, while a week on Saturday they travel to Dorset for an FA Trophy tie.

Town will look to continue their excellent home record, but Brown is taking nothing for granted and said: “Steve Thompson is a brilliant coach and has turned things around there. It will be another tough game and one we would like to win ahead of the FATrophy tie.”
