FOOTY for a fiver is the offer Basingstoke Town have for football fans for this Saturday’s home league game with visiting Banbury.

This weekend there is no Premier League or championship games so Town are hoping that the fans who flood out of the town each weekend, will instead head to the Camrose to cheer on the Dragons.

This is a great value for an afternoon’s entertainment with £5 for adults, while under-16s go free.

Town have turned in some impressive performances on home soil this season, no more so than last Saturday’s 3-0 victory over high flying Redditich United.

Ben Wright and new signing striker Callum Bunting were on target for the home side, while captain Marcus Johnson-Schuster’s 30 yard strike was worth the attendance money alone.

On Tuesday night, Town were in superb form again with a 6-2 success at Fleet Town.

Saturday battle pits 11th placed Basingstoke up against a side two places above them in the table.

Between them they have three of the leading scorers in the league with Wright and Sam Smart lining up for Town against Banbury sharp shooter Jefferson Louis.

Town manager Terry Brown said: “It would be great to see a big crowd at the Camrose to cheer on our young side and I am sure there will be some goals. With the likes of Ben Wright, Sam Smart and Callum Bunting I really like our front three.

“Banbury are a good team and I have worked with Jefferson Louis and on his day he is an unplayable centre forward, so I think Saturday will be a great game.”
