BASINGSTOKE Town won a seven goal thriller on Easter Monday, as their beat visiting near neighbours Farnborough 4-3.

Manager Terry Brown made two changes to the side which lost at King's Lynn, with Tom Leggett and Jordan Goater replacing Tim Wohlfiel and Dan Collier.

There were also two new additions on the bench in Jim Orvis, signed on dual registration from Team Solent, and under-16 goalkeeper Jack Martin.

The home side took the lead in the game after six minutes, as Jack McKnight's corner was put away at the back post by Callum Bunting.

After Town's Colm McAdden made an excellent save, Bunting was denied by post, after being found by Jordan Goater.

Farnborough then levelled things on 18 minutes, as Luke King scored and the same player gave the visitors the lead six minutes later.

The home side hit back as just two minutes after this, Bunting scored his second of the game.

Town then take the lead again on 29 minutes, as Sam Smart made it 3-2.

At half-time, the home side were forced to make a change, as Charlie Kennedy was replaced by new boy Orvis.

Just five minutes after the break, the visitors level things again as Connor Calcutt breaks clear.

The goal still keep coming and on the hour mark, Sam Deadfield fired home, after nice set-up play by Bunting, to put Town ahead 4-3.

After this both sides had their chances, with Smart coming closest to adding another goal, as his shot hit the post.

Next for Town is a trip to Royston on Saturday.
