DAN Weller-Evans made his first ever league start for the Basingstoke Bison and back stopped the Herd to a 5-3 victory at Gillingham against the Invicta Dynamos.
This maintained the Bison's perfect start to their league campaign, despite going a goal down after 38 seconds scored by Callum Fowler.
Soon after a hit on Adam Rehak, sparked a couple of fights which saw Bison's Grant Rounding and Dan Scott each get four minutes, as well as Rehak and Tom Ralph.
The visitors then levelled things at 10:38, as Tomas Karpov netted and Aaron Connolly gave them the lead two minutes later.
The Herd extended their lead to 3-1 thanks to a powerplay strike from Scott.
Invicta kept themselves in the game as man of the match Ralph scored from the blue line.
Kaprov's second of the game made it 4-2, as he converted a pass from Paul Petts.
Within a minute, Invicta's Louis Colvin reduced the lead to one again.
However, soon after the Bison were given a powerplay and man of the match Ivan Antonov made sure of the victory.
Next up for the Bison is a home game against the Streatham RedHawks is in the league.
