BASINGSTOKE Town Ladies were edged out in a nine goal thriller to visiting Poole in the Women's Premier League South West Division One last Sunday.
The Dorset side raced into a 3-0 lead after 21 minutes, before Sarah Wentworth opened Town's account.
Poole added a fourth, but Wentworth made it 4-2 at half-time.
Jade Bradley reduced the lead to one goal just before the hour mark, but Poole made it 5-3 after 78 minutes.
Helen Ogle set up a frantic finale with a goal in the final minute, but the visitors held on.
The previous Wednesday, Ogle scored twice as Town lost 5-2 to Maidenhead.
The Ladies next game is on October 29 (2pm) when they entertain Keynsham.
