JASMINE Meichle scored on her debut as the Basingstoke Town Ladies drew with visiting Larkhall 1-1.

The visitors had the first real chance on the half hour as a Larkhall striker took the ball round goalkeeper Erin Davis-Donne, only to have her shot cleared off the line by the sliding Katie Donegan.

Soon after, Basingstoke counter attacked by Kelly Rutledge crossing the ball across the face of the net, where Lindsey Beverley was inches away from sliding the ball in.

Four minutes into the second half, Rutledge's corner hit the strike the crossbar and was cleared.

Rutledge then had a miss-hit shot which debutant Jasmine Meichle struck on the half volley into the top corner from eight yards out.

On the hour mark, a Davis-Donne drop kick, Helen Ogle attempted to lob the on-rushing Larkhall goalkeeper, but her effort went narrowly wide.

On 65 minutes, Larkhall levelled as their striker found some space on the left side and curled the ball into the far corner.

soon after, the visitors hit the post and then Basingstoke were denied a winner after a goal mouth scramble.
