KATIE Randell and Helen Ogle both scored as Basingstoke Town Ladies returned to winning ways in the Women's Premier League South West Division One, with a 2-0 win at Shanklin.
The visitors started the better with Lindsey Beverley heading just wide from a tight angle, following a corner in the fourth minute.
Soon after, Randell had a chance saved and then turned provider for Ogle, who beat the goalkeeper at the near post, but her shot was cleared by a defender.
A minute into the second half, the Town Ladies took the lead, as Ogle saw her shot saved, but Randell put away the rebound.
Ogle then went close to adding a second, when one-on-one with the goalie, but her shot went wide.
However, she was not to be denied a goal, as she converted a lovely through ball from Beverley with 20 minutes left.
Shanklin then had a 10 minute spell of pressure, but were unable to create any chances.
After the game, manager Rob Quilter said: "It was a good win, we controlled the game throughout and passed the ball around well.
"The girls were positive at half time and came out in the second half with a pace that Shanklin struggled to keep with."
