BASINGSTOKE Town Ladies were unable to get the better of Fulham FC Foundation in the FA Cup, losing 2-0 to the Championship club's female team.
Fulham went ahead after six minutes at Winklebury on Sunday, but the hosts improved as the first half progressed.
Unfortunately, they were unable to create much in the way of chances and Fulham doubled their lead on the half-hour.
Town pressed in the second half, but they struggled to find a way through the visitors' defence and bowed out of the competition with their first defeat of the season.
Basingstoke are in Hampshire Cup action this Sunday, welcoming Hampshire League outfit AFC Boscombe to Winklebury.
The reserves lost 4-0 away at Bursledon in the Hampshire League Cup last week. They face the same opposition in a league game on Sunday.
