LAST weekend we produced a very good second-half performance to come from a goal behind and beat league leaders Boreham Wood 2-1.

It was obviously very pleasing to get the three points but the performance was equally good and at the moment the squad are very much all pulling in the same direction.

We know that anyone in the squad is capable of performing to the standards required and will not weaken the side if asked to step into the team.

This weekend we turn our attention to the FA Cup. It is important that we prepare properly and do not allow ourselves to underestimate the opposition.

We are aware of how Bridgwater Town play and will certainly need to perform to our capabilities to go through. It is at this time of year that we all dream of going on a cup run but before we can start doing that, we need to get over this tricky first hurdle.

Our academy opened their league account with a creditable 3-0 win over Eastleigh Blues.

We made several changes because of the availability of several key members of the squad, but three early goals from Ben Wilson, George Hallahan and Aaron Jarvis settled the side and a resolute performance meant it ended a comfortable win.

It was good to bounce back after we had been beaten in the FA Youth Cup by Hartley Wintney and we now look forward to games against Gosport Borough and Oxford City.

Regards,

Jason
