AFTER a very good win against Hayes and Yeading on Saturday, we suffered a very disappointing result against Farnborough on Monday.

Having been in control for the majority of the game, creating enough chances to win comfortably, we conceded two very late goals.

With the score at 1-0, the opposition are always in the game and I believe if we had taken one of the many chances we created, then we would have gone on to get a few more.

Having said that, we need to work on the closing out of games and hopefully the players learned a valuable lesson on Monday.

This week, we entertain another of the pre-seasons favourites in Ebbsfleet. We know this is going to be a big test and we need to respond well from the disappointment of Monday.

Having said all that, we must look at the positives from the past couple of weeks, scoring 10 goals and keeping three clean sheets is something to build on.

We have created numerous chances in the games and, Monday apart, have been quite clinical. The players are disappointed but still in a positive mood and they can’t wait to get back into action on Saturday.

On the injury front, Nicholas Bignall appears to have recovered from his setback and Robbie Rice will hopefully be back available for selection after suffering a nasty cut just above his eye.

Regards,

Jason
