THERE has been a lot happening on and off the pitch over the last few months, with a big turnover of players over the summer and the club putting some great initiatives in place.

I hope this will be a season that is exciting, rewarding and successful.

Last weekend, we launched the Soccer AM deal. Apart from the result, it was a huge success and even the torrential downpour didn’t dampen the spirits.

I must thank the Soccer AM crew for being so welcoming and open to the new partnership. Presenter Max Rushden made his debut for us and fitted into the team well. The big question is, will that be his one and only appearance?

We have a lot of new faces in the squad, but they have fitted in really well and bought into our philosophy straight away.

David Ray will hopefully have recovered from his ankle injury by the time you read this, while Louie Soares is now over a back problem that flared up during pre-season. Lloyd Macklin will not be too far away come Saturday and we are hoping that Robbie Rice’s calf injury is not as bad as we first thought.

Saturday’s game against Hemel Hempstead Town is the start of a very tough week. We host a team that have a winning mentality, who will have great confidence after winning the Southern League last year.

Then, on Tuesday, we travel to a very good Bath City side, before making the trip to Bromley, one of the title favourites, next Saturday.

The team will need to perform at their very best if we are to return with points from those two games, so it will be interesting to see how we fare.

Regards,

Jason
