CHARLIE Kennedy is the latest Basingstoke Town player to suffer a season ending injury after he limped off at Royston.

The rugged midfielder and skipper has torn a ligament in his knee and so will miss the rest of the campaign.

He is third player along with Sam Argent and Shane Hollamby to suffer a season ending injury this campaign.

It is not good news for the Town camp, ahead of a busy six days with three games.

After Saturday's narrow 1-0 loss, the Dragons are 11th in the table and their next three games are against three sides below them in the table.

This starts tonight at St Ives, followed by home games on Saturday against Dunstable and then on Tuesday evening Bishop's Stortford are the visitors to the Camrose.

St Ives are currently 22nd, but manager Terry Brown does not believe the trip will be easy one and said: " With Charlie (Kennedy) now out I am hoping that Dan Collier and Michael Atkinson will be fit. We know the pitch at St Ives, will mean we will have to go direct, which we did there last year and won, so I hope we can do it again."

Saturday's visitors Dunstable are in a dog fight with Gosport Borough to avoid finishing bottom and being relegated.

Dunstable are two points clear of Gosport and the sides were due to meet on Tuesday, but he game was postponed.

Brown said: "This is a game we are expected to win which is strange for us. They are fighting for their lives so I am expecting a tough game."

Tuesday night's opponents Bishop's Stortford include former Reading striker Jamie Cureton and by then Brown admits his side may well pick itself and said: "It is a busy period of games, but it is the same for most clubs. We will see where we are come Tuesday as to the team I pick."
