BASINGSTOKE Town will continue to play at the Camrose for the first half of next season, before they move to the Hampshire FA’s headquarters at Winklebury.

This was announced at the Basingstoke Town’s Community Club members meeting on Tuesday night.

Originally the Dragons had been set to leave the Camrose at the end of the current league season, as owner Rafi Razzak wants to develop the site.

Now the plan is to start their 2018/19 league campaign at the Camrose and move to Winklebury by the end of 2018.

The delay has be caused as the new artificial grass pitch which will not be ready until later this year.

Community Club chairman Steve Letch said: “In the absence of any provision for players’ wages in July, the Community Club, its members and supporters had contributed massively to the building and retention of the team. Now we need to enhance our fund raising, broaden our support across the community and attract more volunteers."
