BASINGSTOKE Town deserved a draw on Tuesday night against visiting Kings Lynn, but in the end they lost 2-1 at the Ark Cancer Charity Stadium.

The Dragons dominated the final 45 minutes, but unfortunately they were found wanting in the first half as the Norfolk visitors scored twice and could have had a few more.

Town were unchanged from the side which lost 4-0 at Chesham, but were soon forced into a change after Rob Atkinson limped off with ankle ligament damage and was replaced at left back by George Bennett.

The visitors then hit the top of the crossbar from the head of Toby Hilliard and the same striker got behind the home defence, but Alex Tokarczyk made the save.

Town's best move so far, saw Sam Deadfield and Aaron Jarvis combine and Romone Rose's low cross, but no one is able to turn it in.

King Lynn responded and opened the scoring as Michael Clunan's free-kick on the right is headed in by Daniel Quigley on 20 minutes.

Soon after, a Bennett throw-in found Owusu and he produced a nice back heel to Deadfield.

Deadfield returned the pass and Owusu with a low shot from the left hand side of the area hit the far post, as the visitors were lucky not to concede.

On 40 minute mark, Kings Lynn made it 2-0, as Lee Stevenson forced his way into the area and slams the ball in at the near post.

With 10 minutes gone in the second-half the Dragons were forced to reshuffle their line-up again after Joe Gater was forced off due to concussion being replaced by Michael Atkinson, which meant Matt Partridge had to slot back into defence.

After the hour mark, the home side started to dominate the game with Owusu forcing a save.

Soon after, a Owusu cross was nearly touched home by Jarvis and then in the 68th minute the striker made no mistake after a defensive mix-up.

the Dragons continue to have the better of the game and just before the final whistle, a thunderbolt shot from Rose was pushed out by Street and then the same striker again tested the goalie soon after.

Then in the third minutes of added on time Owusu finds Jarvis, but his shot hits the post.

After the game Terry Brown said: "I felt we deserved something out of the game. Credit to all the subs they did really well and we showed a lot of character to keep going even when we were 2-0 down."
