HONOURS were even as Basingstoke Town drew 0-0 at Biggleswade Town.

Dragons’ boss Terry Brown made one change to the side which lost at Weymouth in midweek, with Michael Atkinson replacing George Hallahan.

There was also a return to the subs bench for injured pair Tamille Roache and Aaron Redford.

The first real chance of the game went to the visitors as Sam Deadfield tested home goalkeeper Ian Brown with a shot.

Deadfield was involved in the next chance for the Dragons, as from his corner Rob Atkinson headed wide.

Biggleswade’s Ian Rees then forced Basingstoke shot stopper Alex Tokarcyzk into action.

Another Basingstoke corner saw Atkinson left unmarked at the back post, but he was unable to find the target.

After the break, the Dragons continued to be the better side, as Nana Owusu went close and the lively Ramone Rose fired wide after a solo run.

On 69 minutes, Rose scored for the visitors, but it was ruled out for being offside.

In the final 10 minutes, Tokarcyzk was called into action again, to deny Inih Effiong to keep the score 0-0.

Basingstoke had the better of the final stages of the game, but was unable to break the deadlock.

The draw saw the Dragons remain 15th in the Southern League Premier Division table. On Tuesday night (7.45pm), Basingstoke are in home action, looking to avenge a 2-0 defeat from earlier in the season, when Kings Langley are the visitors.
