BASINGSTOKE Town manager Terry Brown has signed three more players to his impressive looking Dragons squad.

This was after he agreed terms with Aaron Redford and teenage twins Robert and Michael Atkinson.

Striker Redford, released by Fulham in the summer, has looked very lively for Town and so nearly scored a hat-trick against Salisbury last weekend.

Robert Atkinson has been playing in the centre of the Dragon’s defence, but is not afraid to venture forward and looks very good with the ball at his feet.

Michael Atkinson is a midfielder and like the other two has turned in some useful performances in pre-season.

Town continued their excellent warm-up to their Southern League Premier Division campaign, with a 3-1 victory over a very strong visiting Reading under-21 side 3-1.

The home side took the lead after 10 minutes, as a good run from Robert Atkinson saw his shot blocked and the ball fell to George Hallahan. The striker was pulled down in the box and George Bennett scored from the spot.

New signing Redford was then denied by a good save from Joe Tapping, after a clever pass from Richie Whittingham.

Town doubled their advantage, as Marcus Johnson-Schuster ‘s cross was headed in by Aaron Jarvis to make it 2-0 at the break.

After the interval, the home side added a third goal. Atkinson and Jarvis combined and Jarvis’ cross was headed in by Jordace Holder Spooner.

Reading scored a late consolation goal from Andrua Novakovich’s penalty, after he had been tripped.

Town complete their home pre-season campaign with a visit from National League Gosport Borough on Wednesday night (7.45pm).
