BASINGSTOKE Town manager Terry Brown is excited about getting the first look at his new players when they report back for training on Monday.

The Dragons boss has so far signed seven players and is hoping to add another addition before the weekend.

Brown said: “I am expecting to have around 18 boys at training and for sure some will be offered contracts. It is up to them to now prove themselves over the coming weeks they should be part of this team "I know it is early to start back, but we have a lot off work being this will be a brand new side."

Brown is still looking to add to his pre-season campaign which at the moment will start on July 12 at Winchester City.

The Dragons boss said: " Ideally I would like three home games in pre-season. At the moment we just have the two against Salisbury and Reading under-21s.

"We are working hard to add another one, so I get the best chance to see as many players in action, before I add them to the squad."
