BASINGSTOKE Town new manager Terry Brown is looking for his side to build on their 2-0 victory at Camrose over Oxford City last weekend, when Concord Rangers are the next visitors to north Hampshire on Saturday (3pm).

The victory has left the new boss with the problem of does he change a winning team as he tries to give other members of the squad the chance to stake a place in the team for next season.

Brown said: "It is difficult as I don't want to change a winning team, but I promised all the players the chance to play before the end of the season, so there will be no big changes for the Concord game. I will be alternating the goalkeepers for the rest of the season and I have already told them that."

He added: "Concord are good side and beat Margate when I was there and Basingstoke lost in the away game 5-0, so it is time for revenge."

On Tuesday night, the Dragons travel to Weston-super-Mare which is the first of two games in five days against the Somerset side. They are seven points and one place above Town, who themselves are 11 points away from safety.

Brown said: "Both games against Weston are massive, but we have to win against Concord first."

The new manager's first week in charge saw three departures from the Town squad in James Harper, Jamie Brown and Ryan Case.

Talking about the decision Brown said: “ I felt the squad was too big to give everyone a game in closing stages of the season. We had three right backs and as Ryan was behind Nathan Smart and Rob Rice in the pecking I felt it was right to release him.

"I am looking to build a much younger squad for next season and so this was the reason James and Jamie were released and all three were before deadline day."

Midfielder Harper signed for Town's relegation rivals Hayes and Yeading.

The Dragons postponed game at Gosport, will now be played on Tuesday April 12 (7.45pm).
