BASINGSTOKE Town Ladies maintained their title push with a 3-0 victory at Mansfield Road.
The visitors started the game on top, and did not waste time to break the deadlock when Michelle Kimber played a long ball through to Lindsey Beverley who volleyed the ball into the corner with her left foot.
Their lead was doubled five minutes later, when Charlie Fry crossed the ball into the area, and with the goalkeeper distracted, the ball went into the far corner.
Fry went close to doubling her tally when her sweetly struck left volley smashed against the crossbar.
Town dominated the rest of the game, but were unable to make the most of their chances until the 80th minute when Zoe Saunders put Lauren Butler though to chip the goalkeeper.
The 3-0 win keeps the pressure on Oxford at the top and Town are currently three points behind with two games in hand and next up Town is a trip to their other title rivals Marlow The reserves meanwhile travelled to bottom club QK Southampton and came away with a point in an entertaining 1-1 draw.
Town's goal came from new signing Kayleigh Tayler and next up for the reserves is a home game against fourth placed Horndean.
